Conferences

Texas APCO and Texas NENA partner twice annually to host training specific to Emergency Dispatchers in our Great State. The “main event” is the Public Safety Conference held in March or April, which has been hosted for the past several years in historic Galveston. The smaller, but no less educational and worthwhile, Texas Public Safety Fall Conference is held in October and is a more intimate event so you get more one-on-one time with the session leaders.

Information on state conferences can be found by selecting Training and Conferences from the Categories drop down menu on the left side of this page.

National APCO is an annual mega-conference that is held in a different location each summer. If you get the opportunity to attend, take it! The information and connections you’ll come home with are priceless. Find out more about it on APCO’s events tab on their main page.

Volunteerism

Do you love to be involved? Do you want to network? Maybe try your hand at public speaking? Conferences are a fantastic way to get your feet wet!

Both the State and National conferences have volunteer opportunities, from badge scanning to event planning. Volunteering will also earn you reduced conference costs, so it’s a win-win!
