PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE - 700 MHZ REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING MARCH 1, 2012. Kenneth C. Yoder TXAPCO Senior Frequency Advisor
Is your FCC License narrowband compliant?
Don’t wait until December 31, 2012 to update your license. Less than two years from now, you must operate in the narrowband mode on your radio systems. You cannot use the wideband mode for your communications after January 1, 2013. If you are not in compliant by that time, you could be subject to FCC enforcement actions, which may include fines or loss of your license.
The FCC has made it easy for you to be compliant as long as you don’t make any changes to your license. All you need is your PIN, license call sign, and your computer. The FCC site www.fcc.gov and go to the ULS link. Add the narrowband emission 11K3F3E to all of your frequencies. The FCC will send you a new license. The sooner you do this, the sooner you will get your license. The FCC is a little behind with all of the updating of licenses in the nation.
If you don’t wish to update your license yourself you can contact APCO-AFC Licensing Service department at 1-888-APCO-911 (1-888-272-6911) ext.2463 or send an email to licensingservice@apcointl.org. With no changes on your license, the licensing service will do the work for you at a very small fee.
However, if there are any changes to your license, no matter how small, the change must be coordinated as a modification and you will be charged the appropriate licensing fee. If in doubt, please call or send an e-mail to the APCO licensing service. |
